BRANDON WILDE – Surprise Box 1

Posted on 30 September 2011

(NOTE:  I am leaving this track up a few extra days since we’re just just in beta and starting off here at PGH – Normally, when a new track is uploaded, the old is taken down – so make sure you are aware of that.)

Brandon Wilde released a fantastic album in 2007 (“Songs From The Deep Sleep”) that was carried on the Not Lame site and, for anyone who picked it up, found a sophisticated songwriter capable of a deep, warm swoon connected to a special rich, unique melodic character.

His new album “Hearts In Stereo” is just out.

hey, I like this feature. thanks Bruce.

    • dudeman says:

Both of Brandon’s albums are high, high caliber pop that take the whole craft aspect of songwriting quite seriously – you can tell he takes a lot of time working things out and where they end up, are exactly they should be…..

  2. Bruce Brown says:

Great music. Higher quality downloads, please.

    • dudeman says:

When there’s some money coming in to cover the costs for the site, I DO plan on higher level downloads, Bruce….I am aware! 😀

      • Mark Bierman says:

Don’t give in to this nonsense Bruce. If they want higher quality downloads, tell them to buy the music and support the artist, and YOU!

        • dudeman says:

Yeah, it’s a delicate balance and I”m hearing that directly from a lot of PGHers….one of the issues is TIME – time for me get the artists to send me the higher level files. It’s not as easy of a process as most thing. And..what you say. Fans like us *have to* recognize and respect artists need to make *something*..and that has just gotten out of hand. Way out of hand(and it’s one of many reasons, Not Lame died…).

I’ll be trying to offer higher quality downloads but ONLY WHEN the artists want to give them out, in the manner….

          • Mark Bierman says:

It’s interesting you have to wait for the artists to send you the files. I would think you’d be able to dupe them at any quality you wanted faster and easier, assuming you had permission.

Higher quality files do nothing but increase your costs (time space and bandwidth in particular) and give listeners more reasons not to purchase music.

There is nothing wrong with a 128k MP3 and these are 160k.

  3. Mike Neill says:

  4. Nick Hardie says:

Nice tune, will have to check out his other stuff, thanks!

  5. David Rubenstein says:

    Great tune!

    • dudeman says:

Both his albums, David – are just seriously top-shelf. Dude knows how to craft a cool tune….

  6. Stu Pope says:

Anyone else (on a Mac) having an issue with trying to download the Brandon Wilde track? I just get a blank page, even when I “right click” with the new mouse…

    Stu

    • Fido Kennington says:

Perhaps it’s because I use a PC, but I’m only able to play, not download the track. That said, I find it to be a pretty valid jam, nonetheless!

  7. Mark Boersma says:

I think “download” may be a misnomer, as on a Mac i too can only listen to, not download, the track

    • Mark Cherrington says:

Here’s how I downloaded it on my MacBook Pro: right click on the file name and then select “Download Linked File.” That worked for me. And I’m glad it did—this is a terrific song. Thanks, Bruce, for setting this up!

  8. Stephen Furness says:

    Not a bad song. Thanks!
