Here’s a great project totally off the radar and(sadly) no one in the power pop world appears to be aware of.
Let’s change that here and now — and let the music do the talking. Two Sheds Jackson have been around awhile but a few years ago they hooked up with Maple Mars leader, Rick Hromadka to flex their experimental muscle and push their art.
The results are here in this song, Beautiful Sunchild which I think you all are gonna love.

Fantastic – what a lovely surprise from the Surprise Box. Creamy power pop with a dose of bright sunshine pop and even light psych touches (a bit of groovy phasing here and there). To my ear, it’s more in the vein of the Wondermints than Maple Mars, but it’s definitely all good. I’m on my way to iTunes to check out the rest of the EP…
I agree with you Stu, which is why I really wanted to do this song. The Wondermints, whom I had to pleasure of playing with in my old band Double Naught Spies, was my favorite LA band in the 90’s!
Stu the rest of the EP is amazing! Besides Rick, it features collaborations with Wim Oudijk, Roger Klug, and Luke Jackson! Every track is stellar!
The entire ep is already alive and well on my iPod. Great stuff indeed!
