This is an offer from one hardcore power pop fan(me) to another(yes, you!) and something I have been asked about doing for over 20 years and never have been able to do it – until now.  This music that has barely, rarely and tragically has been heard by very, very few people.   It’s going to be a lot of fun for the listener of what comes in this batch of tunes and I hope you think so, too.  (it’s a bit labor intensive so that is why I’m only offering this to so few folks…)

WHAT KIND OF CDs WILL BE IN THE BOX?

40 CDs and CD-Rs and this is the breakdown.  20 CDs will be picked from the stacks ‘n masses of CDs I have(in a somewhat random manner) THEN there will 10 will be CD-Rs of cool power pop LPs/vinyl that have never been available on CD or digitally AND then 10 more CD-Rs of super rare, unreleased material from the archives of lost, unknown power pop history and then 1 bonus CD-R.  10+10+20+1.

Let’s break down the numbers.

What’s On The “10+10+1” CD-Rs?    

This is this is exciting part of the “Awesomeness Box”.  10 will be CD-Rs of cool power pop LPs/vinyl that have never been available on CD or digitally and 10 will be CD-Rs of super rare, unreleased material from the archives of lost, unknown power pop history – plus a bonus disc below. (Yes, one can say it’s questionable even selling some of this material, even if at a pittance, but this is far from profiteering as it’s all very labor-intensive and all of our time and efforts is worth something always and, frankly,  we’re talking less a bit more than one dollar on each one so there’s no wealth building going here but this music will stay alive and not disappear — and it will get into the ears and hands of those who truly care and will attach value to the music beyond just another digital file to plaster and lose on another external hard-drive..that’s a rant, though, for another time.)

(well, he did release one more CD 5 years later but few knew it even existed, sadly…).  All the songs on this CD were studio demos from 2001 that were being pitched to his label(I knew his A&R guy) and which were…rejected.  Why?  “No hits”.  Absurd!  When you hear these 10 songs, you’ll be stunned at how great they were and what a fully developed album these songs could have been.  [/contentbox]

With the 11(includes the above bonus) CD-Rs of the unreleased and demos, some of the artists include:  Sugarbomb, the Tories, the Semantics, Pinwheel(early FOW), School of Fish, Material Issue, the Excuse(amazing unknown from Sweden), Wondermints, Tal Bachman, Imperial Drag, the Pranks, 70s Memphis pop bands and more.

With the other 10 CD-Rs that cover never-released on CD or being available digitally, these gather up all kinds of tracks from releases from the mid/late 70s that run the gambit of wicked rare/unknown, modestly off-the-beaten track and unknown but still, sadly, never released on CD or as digital downloads.

What’s On The Other “20” CDs?

20 CDs from the shelves of NotLame.com.  What kind of quality and match to your tastes will be in the big ‘ole box?  Well,  it’s a TRUE GRAB BAG SCENARIO.  It’s a  grab bag of CDs that were mostly on the Not Lame site which covered melodic and power pop oriented music but there will be other genres in the box because the Not Lame Store carried other CDs that were not power pop. I just gotta get these CDs out of my house and storage!    There is a luck inside something like this but…If this is for you, just have some fun with the process and experience!

$90 for 40 CDs/CD-Rs —- that would be,  20 CDs and 20 CD-Rs – plus a revelatory and awesome bonus CD-R.
