‘The music of The Sunchymes is a summery fusion of power pop and psychedelia which has been compared to the likes of The Beach Boys, Wondermints, Beatles, The Byrds and Jellyfish.  The Sunchymes is mainly the work of one Aaron Hemington, a songwriter from the UK, who records from his home studio with ocassional help from his cousin Justin.  Aaron cites Brian Wilson, Lennon & McCartney and the Byrds as his main songwriting influences and as a result is obsessed with creating melodic and harmony driven music.
The  Sunchymes’ debut album ‘Shifting Sands’ was released on Calliope Records in December 2009 and is included in Bruce Brodeens book, “Power Pop Prime – Volume 9”. The follow up album ‘Let your free flag fly’ was released in August 2012 and has already received some warm reviews. In particular see Mike Baron’s review on PGH and the review from Shindig Happening Magazine at:
The track in the suprise box is the second track from the new album  ‘Let your free flag fly.’ The new album is available from CD Baby, itunes, Bandcamp and Kool Kat Musik. To keep up to date with The Sunchymes please see the following links:
