THE CRY! – Surprise Box 90

Posted on 02 February 2013

Absolutely, positively one of the more exciting new power pop bands to come on ‘the scene’ the last 18 months, THE CRY! continue to impress and evolve their sound.

The band is looking to tour the US in May and June and have 20 songs they are working on that will part of a new album that should be out before the tour begins.  PGH, of course, will keep you posted.  (Labels: they are looking for a label for the US release…)

AND….PGH has an exclusive for you from that upcoming album.  A gorgeous, classic slab of pure, rocking pop, “Seventeeen” is a track you can grab and enjoy right now, months before the album arrives.

Cry

The Cry! combine the best of British invasion rock n’ roll ,‘60s pop, and ’77 punk, in order to reinvent the two minute pop song for the next generation. The Cry! aren’t simply retro revivalists, they are forward thinking musicians who create innovative jams, that shred lead guitar hooks and bass riffs towards the future, while paying homage to their predecessors. Listen to The Cry! and don’t be surprised when “Modern Cinderella” or “I Think I’m in Love,” get stuck to the inside of your skull like over chewed bubblegum. Their self-titled full-length is stacked with one catchy hit after another. Don’t let their “pop” banner fool you, these boys are straight up rock n’ rollers. They’ll make you question your sexuality and steal your girlfriend.
