We are delighted to announce that our new album ‘Sweet Northern Light’ is ready for release. The LP was written and recorded in the North-East of Scotland and huge thanks go to Mike Denton (The Lucid Dream) for mastering, Lyn Ralph (His Name Is Codeine) and Lynsey Forbes for the artwork. For those of you who are new to the band, we’re predominantly from the town of Keith in the north-east of Scotland, a town better known as the home of Chivas Regal whisky. We should also really mention the towns of Elgin, Burghead, Hopeman and Winter Haven, Florida*, all of which play an important role in our story. We were formed out of necessity – to carry on in the tradition of bands from our area; The Chymes and The Phoenix Band to name but a few. Indeed, some of us Carousels were in those bands in some shape or form – usually horizontal – so if you’re intrigued, dig a little deeper and check them out.

Our new LP follows on from last year’s ‘Call Along The Coast’ EP which was really well received. You can see the official video to the title track here:

The band also played a sell-out show at the Cavern Club, Liverpool earlier on this year as part of the International Pop Overthrow Festival. You can see a wee snippet of how that went here:

Following that weekend, a feature on the band appeared in Mudkiss Fanzine, where we received a nod of approval from Barry Sutton of The La’s, one of our all-time favourite bands. You can see the feature here:
