POP ACADEMY

Posted on 16 September 2011

Something totally different – and cool! These are enlightening lessons on the sub-genres in ‘power pop’ – an interactive learning and music enjoyment experience! Each month, PGH will roll out a new class that explore in depth the intricacies, nuances and unknown stories connected to areas of interest to Pop Pioneers and fellow pop geeks like us! Some of the subjects to be covered in 2011 will be ‘Saturday Morning Cartoon Pop’, the historical use of the Rickenbacker in the genre, the history of Not Lame Recordings and some of its most rarely heard music, the late 70s skinny-tie power pop explosion and much more. PGH will survey and poll your interests, though, so the course selection at the end of the year will reflect your wishes! We’ll come up with the course selection together….
