PGH PODCAST – Episode 5

POP GEEK HEAVEN

PODCAST #5

There is absolutely no theme connected to this podcast.  I just went into a long-lost box and looked around inside of it and pulled out a whole lotta old favorite CDs I’ve not listened to in a quite awhile.

There’s 10 songs and it’s the longest one of the five PGH Podcasts.

Question:  Do you prefer a shorter podcast of, say, 7 songs — or a bit longer in the 10 song format?  Please post your answer below – would be helpful for me as I try to kick these out more often.

So what do we have on this one?  Here are the band, song titles and albums they appeared on.

ELGIN PARK – “What I Can’t Do” from the album “Elgin Park”

THE IRRESPONSIBLES – “Over You” from the album “When Pigs Fly”

TEEN MACHINE – “Sugarland” from the album “After School Special”

THE EFFECTION – “Sound Effection” from the album “Soundtrack To A Moment”

THE FINDERS – “Talk To Me” from the album “Calling Dr. Power Pop”

THE 45s (two songs) – “Something Real” and “Walk  ’round The Corner” from the album “45s”

GALORE – “She’s An Elevator” from the album “Amplifier”

THE EXCENTRICS – “No Breakdown Tonight” from the album “Perfect Nervous Breakdown”

THE GIRLS – “Imaginary Lover” from the album “Things Are Getting Weird Tonight”

Took me about 20 mins find them all, ranging from .01 to 24.99 for CDs and 4.99 to 9.99 for mp3s. Got the 45s on ebay-UK for 5.00 US.

Fantastic podcast, Bruce! I like the 10 song random, non-theme format. Keep them coming, please.

Thanks for another great podcast! I like podcasts at about 60 minutes, so whatever music fits into a file that size is cool with me.

Wow this is the best podcast yet and I like the ten song format except for the fact that now I have some mega hunting to do to find some of these albums…….. thanks heaps

Thanks for the feedback on this one…it’s very helpful.

I think I’ll do the next one(next month) in the same ‘non-theme’ again…it’s kind of how I listen to music anyway.

LOVE that so many of you are going out and doing further explanation. Warms my music luvin’ soul! :0)

  8. Richard Horton says:

I just got around to listening to this…. half way though and I’m already contemplating if I’ll need to sell a kidney to get it all.

    Great job Bruce.
