Not Lame Experience – Episode One

Posted on 26 September 2011

What Is “The Not Lame Experience”?

Not Lame Recordings started its journey in 1994 and it came to completion in late 2010. Here, we’ll dig into the past and unearth long-forgotten pop greats, obscure classics and re-evaluate some of the most unknown, unheard pop artists that you need to be aware of. PGH will post MP3s, written and video reviews, interviews and articles on the artists featured here. During its time of operation, the Not Lame label released almost 100 CDs and its mail order web site operation carried over 10,000 different CDs from (mostly) independent bands and labels from all over the world.

After you play the video above, it’s time to enjoy some music and more info below……

Avatar check. My first purchase from Not Lame was “At Home with Cherry Twister”.

Tim, do you own the early Cherry Twister? There was a CD that came out in 1993 that is absolutely amazing….Not Lame’s first CD came out in March 1995 and was called SymPOPhony #1 – it featured 5 bands, each with 4 tracks. CT was one of those bands – had a few tracks from that album and some others. All those tracks are gems, as well….

Jet is one of my ‘Desert Island’ disc’s. Now all we need is a official reissue of The Quick’s ‘Mondo Deco’ and the Sparks circle will be almost complete…

Bruce, you are doing a great job. I really was sad when Not Lame folded.
