Hey There, Hi There, Ho There!

=========================================================================

Yes, you are invited to come out and hang with me, meet me, buy me drink and, if I’m under the influence enough, buy YOU a drink! ;-P. (seriously, if you come from out of Colorado, I am buying YOU a drink!)

What this MUSIC EXTRAVAGENZA, you ask?!  Well, my 60th Birthday Blowout in Ft. Collins, Colorado on Saturday, July 9th!

Below are the details with the concert, the fund raiser, the breweries & distilleries, the insane great dining, the hiking, the hotel(another cool option to consider on a lake w/ kayaking and canoeing) and more.  There’s a LOT of information here – I wanted to give you the full picture.

How DID this all happen.  There’s an old friend of Not Lame(when you meet me, make sure you ask me how I met the guy I’m going to tell you about)…and he happens to be the leader of...the best cover band you’ve ever heard!  His name is Jeff LaQuatra and he’s a professor of classical guitar at Colorado State University but he’s a rocker(and a big fan of my old label’s work for decades).  This band I speak of has played the world famous Red Rocks and other 15K+ outdoor venues in our region so…yeah, total pros. An 8-piece band(w/ a 3 piece string section so they can play Electric Light Orchestra and “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin, which they will be playing, it’s amazing!)…and the band is going to play at the best music venue in Northern Colorado(by far).  They are called:  Mr. Majestyk’s 8-Track Revival. (great or terrible name, depending on how you view it)

They will play two long, insanely and ridiculously fabulific and fun sets.  The set list I’m consulting with the band on for this evening is going to be..totally SICK.  You’re gonna love it. 110% guaranteed memorable music memory good time!

The opening band is one of my bands from my Not Lame Recordings days.  Surely, you have heard of them, yes?

That would be THE SHAZAM!   Well, not the full band because we lost the drummer Scott a few years ago, tragically, Mick is raising a family in Nashville and Jeremy is touring with Ace Frehley and Peter Criss but….HANS ROTENBERRY, who has worked up a classic set of Shazam ditties with the full 8-piece band of Mr. Majestyk’s 8-Track Revival, including some string arrangements to select Shazam tunes.  Wicked Pissa Cool, as my Boston homeboys used to say back in the day(and still do, I’m told).

The show is on Saturday, July 9th. The bitchin’ poster is enclosed below and the band bio at the link along with other info on the show. (the set list is SICK!!!)

I am organizing the show along with Jeff LaQuatra, the band’s manager guru BUT….Here Is The Very Cool Thing:  The night is  a fundraiser for my wife’s non-profit in India. It’s called INDIA TRANSFORMED and she is the Executive Director.  The organization does truly life-changing transformational work with the poorest of the poor in the chaste system in India.  (link is below for India Transformed)

What about me, you ask?  Well, I’ll be pulled up on stage and playing air guitar to a song or two in front of 500-600 people at this venue, making a total asswipe of myself (unapologetically) so you can laugh(or cry at the horror) at my expense…with my complete and total blessing.  I will be rumbling and stumbling about all night and into the wee hours, so…let’s hang out!

WHAT CAN YOU DO IN FORT COLLINS, COLORADO IF YOU COME OUT FOR THE SHOW?  Well, glad you asked. There’s TONS to do…a full scope of everything is fully linked below.  Come to “The Fort” and you’ll eat, drink, hike, bike, whitewater raft and celebrate, party and rock it hard.

Read on for all the details.

Rawk, no Roll,

Bruce

WHAT TO DO IN FT. COLLINS and SURROUNDING AREA:

Honestly, as I pored over and curated all this info, I’m worried about Sir Jeff of Mills – that he’ll make it out of town standing upright.  He may not, but Jeff will have a big ‘ole smile on his face as you’ll soon see below. 😀

WHITE WATER RAFTING:

It’s the height of the season for white water rafting in late June/early July, so if you’ve never done it, this is a GREAT time to knock it down.

Best place is this one, as it has a whole post-game thing with outdoor activites(volleyball, band playing, outdoor pub):

There is a whitewater park right outside of downtown that opened a few years ago, nice place to hang, take a kayak down or a boogie board or just kick-back the edge of the water.
