Certainly the 2nd quarter of 2020 was a profound, disturbing and life-altering or pivoting experience for all of us. For me(Bruce Brodeen, the guy mentioned in the title), it was a time where my consulting work dried up suddenly forcing a rethink for my professional path going forward but it was also a time to lean back into my ‘music business’ and music loving past, much of which has defined my work for 25 of the past 30 years or so.
Which got me thinking. Hmmm, get back to my ‘first love’ in new ways?
I started to teach myself guitar(badly), started properly writing the next (physical, but of course!) book in the “POWER POP PRIME” series, was asked to join a new podcast with an old friend and music luminary from my hometown of Boston(“SKIPS & SCRATCHES“, see below) and was interviewed for a few podcasts, one of which right below with Curt Vance of Power Pop Overdose. The wicked cool thing about this podcast is that Curt intersperses music that the person he interviews talks about – a somewhat unique and certainly novel approach I find really helpful with getting to know the people he interviews.
